REINVENT

Of the infinite journeys that we undertake, little do we stop and notice that the epic journey we partake is life indeed. This life of ours, that begins as a tiny embryo, evolves into a person and culminates with our exoneration into the afterlife. We, however, shall not indulge in what lies beyond life. Rather we shall centralize our thoughts on “Life” itself, our birth – the Past, our evolution – the Present and our future – the Reinvention. Life so far, especially the year bygone has taught us infinitely and 2020 has indeed made each one of us reinvent ourselves in one way or the other and we undeniably have risen from the ashes, just like the mythical but mighty Phoenix.

Now there maybe those who may feel that life has come to a standstill, perhaps to a grinding halt. They would side with the proverbial phrase “the glass is half empty” with its rhetoric usage to indicate that a particular situation being elemental for pessimism (half empty) as against “the glass is half full”, symbolic to optimism. This in a way, is sagacious as a broad litmus test to simply determine an individual's worldview.

But one may, however, would side with those who believe in the philosophy that “the glass is half empty” yet uphold the optimistic viewpoint. The empty space in the glass is considerately symbolic to the various opportunities' available. Those opportunities which, if focused on the half full glass would never receive credibility. This in turn provides one with a contingency to harvest optimism, therein positivity from their deepest recesses. It also provides one an opportunity to break their lives from the cookie-cutter molds, that their life was made to take shape, akin to clones. Almost like one in the sea of infinite, who sound, act diversely yet share the same lifestyle DNA.

For those believers of the above ideology, they are emblematic of the mythical yet the mighty “Phoenix”. A bird which is believed to have cyclically regenerated or in simple words one who has the power to born again. Being in affiliation with the sun, it is believed that the Phoenix obtains new life from the ashes of its predecessor, and thus voiced “the Rise of the Phoenix”.

Correspondingly year 2020, for many, may have been instrumental in inching them closer to the threshold of the precipice of hopelessness, melancholy and utter despair. But it also, simultaneously has provided each one an opportunity to harness their power and to leverage it to soar to heights never imagined in the past.

I for one am a believer of the mythical yet Mighty Phoenix, for I am a staunch believer of and in life. Phoenix only then, mirrors life, as it is proof enough that life never stops. It continues, no matter what reemerging by reinventing.
