It Didn’t Feel Like Building a Team

During my time in the Maldives, team building looked a little different.
On land, it usually meant a room, an agenda, and someone saying, “Let’s make this fun.”
Here, it was a speedboat to an empty island.
No slides.
No sessions.
No one trying too hard.
We just… spent time.
Talked a bit more.
Laughed a bit easier.
Stayed longer than planned.
Nothing was set up to “build” anything.
But something still came together.
Quietly.
And that’s what stayed — not the plan, just how it felt.
